Job Description:
Summary
The Oncology Key Account Director (OKAD) role within Oncology Business Unit Operations is a critical field-based role within the Oncology Commercial team. The position will report to the Director of OBU Operations, Oncology Business Unit and will be a critical support to the OBU marketing, field and cross-functional leadership teams. The role will support the OBU’s commercial objectives and enable access, partnership and pull-through with the most important customer accounts within the OBU. The OKAD will serve as an enabler within these designated, top accounts and will work to identify the interests of those accounts and ensure that they are integrated into Ipsen’s key account strategies and new Cross Functional Key Account Model.
Leading and working with others, obsessive customer centricity, a proven track record of driving results, the ability to set a vision and establish clear goals and the ability to effectively work cross functionally will be critical in this role. The ability to work closely with each of the US Oncology Marketing Teams, the field sales team, the Value and Access team and other critical partners to align on short-term and long-term commercial strategies in service of top accounts will be important for success. This role will be the OBU’s “quarterback” to bring programs and resources to fruition in support of key accounts.
Main Responsibilities / Job Expectations
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understand, map, and share patient & customer journey pain points with IPSEN stakeholders for top Oncology accounts
Establish an understanding of the decision-making processes and workflows within each top account
Establish and maintain access and relationships with c-suite leadership at top accounts
Understand and lead the objectives, success metrics and pain points of each top account
Identify potential areas of synergy for IPSEN and each top account
Alongside the OBU and cross-functional partners, set clear business objectives for each top account
Support the EMR, internal pathway, formulary, etc. processes within each top account
Develops and leads an integrated Oncology approach for Ipsen’s Oncology portfolio, working cross-functionally to leverage IPSEN resources in support of each top account
Leverage data and analytics to support decision making
Support an effective key account management process
Will work collaboratively with cross functional colleagues to support 3rd party pathways workstreams
Set the standard for cross functional collaboration
Serve as a role model for what good customer-centricity looks like across the Oncology BU
Drive a culture of transparency, candor and accountability
Support and execute on critical initiatives (branded and non-branded) on behalf of the OBU
Ensure compliance with all IPSEN policies, industry and customer rules and guidelines, and applicable law, at all times
Knowledge, abilities & experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent, Scientific Degree and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Extensive pharmaceutical experience; strong preference for US Oncology experience
Experience in direct or indirect management of sales/commercial teams
Experience as an account lead with c-suite engagement
Experienced in creating and executing on non-branded opportunities and building strategic relationships
Demonstrated consistent track record of success and delivering strong results
Deep understanding of health systems, and experience engaging with c-suite executives and decision makers
Significant experience in and knowledge of oncology and/or hematology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others through trust and collaboration.
Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to positively connect across multiple stakeholders, including experience of working with senior executives.
Excellent analytical skills and understanding of business analytics tools.
A track record of successful projects delivery and positive performance results.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to interface with both internal and external stakeholders
Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
Willingness/ability to travel extensively domestically.
