Job summary

Kettle Cuisine is seeking a Kettle Operator to oversee processing in our Union City, CA facility. The role ensures adherence to quality, safety, and production protocols for the shift hours of 4:00am–12:30pm or 12:30pm–9:30pm, with overtime likely as business needs change.

Responsibilities include following HACCP guidelines, executing SOPs, monitoring scales and CCPs, and coordinating with maintenance for equipment issues.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in following HACCP policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledgeable of CCPs & CQPs.
  • Familiar with SSOPs and hygienic production practices.
  • Able to understand and monitor tasks to maintain quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Follow quality and food safety protocols in production.
  • Adhere to SOP procedures and documentation.
  • Determine corrective actions and complete C&C reports.
  • Verify preparation and packing scales daily.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to Maintenance Manager; clean and sanitize equipment.
  • Monitor monitoring activities and chart recorders; document results.
  • Maintain inline protection devices between batches; manage trash accumulation.
  • Participate in BOS Safety program and related activities.

Job description

The primary focus of this position is to oversee processing of food manufacturing operations to meet company standards for food safety, quality, and production protocols. Kettle Operator hours are approximately for first shift 4:00am - 12:30pm or for second shift 12:30pm – 9:30pm. Overtime in this position is probable and schedule may change due to business needs.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Production
    • Follow standards of quality and food safety protocols
    • Follow all SOP procedures and documentation
    • For corrective and preventative actions, determine and implement appropriate corrective action and complete C&C Reports and email to Quality Office.
    • Verify Preparation Scale & Packing Scales daily using certified weights
    • Notify Maintenance Manager of any equipment malfunctions or damage Cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment in production area
    • Verify monitoring activities assigned
    • Verifying the chart recorder to when it reaches >190°F
    • Collect CCP chart recorders daily after the end of the production day
    • Checking and documenting in-line protective devices between batches (strainer and magnet)
    • Monitor accumulation of trash in processing area and notify non-production personnel when trash needs to be picked up.
    • Participate in BOS Safety program as required.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

  • Good interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Able to follow all HACCP policies and guidelines
  • Knowledgeable of CCPs & CQPs
  • Knowledgeable of SSOPs
  • The ability to understand and monitor what task are needed to maintain quality and safety in the production process

Pay Range for Kettle Operator Employees

The Kettle Operator base pay range for this role is: $20.00 - $30.00/hr. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Savory Creations Int’l/Kettle Cuisine Union City, CA location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. The Kettle Operator Employee in this position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for the annual bonus program up to $1,000.
