Job summary

Kettle Cuisine in Everett, WA is seeking a Cook Lead to supervise line operators on the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM). You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while mentoring a manufacturing team in a high-volume food production environment.

3rd Shift (Monday - Friday / 10:00PM - 6:30AM; Overtime Saturday and Sundays per business needs)

Job Summary

Performsa wide variety of duties toassistinmaintainingdepartment efficiencies at maximum output levels.Workswith supervisor and supportsall assignedteam membersand equipment requirements during respectiveshift.While performing the duties listed below, the lead isrequiredto spend 85% of time on the floor.Line leaders guide the workflow and productivity of the line operators to ensure that the operators have everythingrequiredto meetthe daily customer orderproduction requirements.Line leaders have the responsibility for improving thelineproductivity and efficiency by creating processes that focus on quality and minimizing waste.The role involves training new operators and holding the operators accountable to company standards.

Role and Responsibilities

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products thatcomply withappropriate laws and regulations, meet thecompanyquality standards.
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Assistin start-up, shut down, checking, and troubleshooting of lines as necessary; conduct quality checks, correct deficiencies, and initiate qualityauditsas necessary.
  • Coordinate withthesupervisor to review andmaintainproduction schedules to ensure resources are available to meetschedule.
  • Audit the floor as required by Leader Standard Work,monitorproductivity metrics, verify adherence to procedures and standard work, correct deficiencies and elevate tosupervisoras necessary.
  • Communicate with oncoming shifts about any problems or issues that are occurring.
  • Notify supervisorimmediatelyand recommend solutions if there are issues that will prevent achievement of efficiency goals.
  • Actively support Operational Excellence and effectivelyparticipatein lean initiatives and problem solving

Ensure that the operatorsremainmotivated-engaged andmaintainthe highest safety protocols.

Keeping records and recording data on inventory management, ordertrackingand the supply of materials.

Supports production schedule compliance and attainment;identifiesissues and opportunities for improvement; report issues toDepartment Supervisor.

Coordinate withDepartment Supervisorto provide feedback and coaching to team members as appropriate.

Monitors,observes, and recommends changes to department work procedures as needed to ensure departmentobjectivesare met.

Implements and conducts training whenoperatingprocedures change and on an annual basis, as required by the training plan.

With QA, Safety, and others asappropriate,assistin execution of action plans related to health and safety and assure the highest levels of compliance.

Serves oncross-functional teams to provide input andtake actionon special projects, as assigned.

Conductsand documentinspections and audits asrequiredin the assigned areas.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1+ years of manufacturing experience and lead/supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Previouswork experience in a fast-facedenvironment, preferably in the food industry

Computer skills – basic knowledge of computer programs and ability to learn inventory controlprogram

Pay Range for Cook Lead

The Cook Lead base pay range $25.00 - $28.00/hourly. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Everett, WA location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. The Cook Lead position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package. Kettle Cuisine and all its legal entities comply with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
