Job summary

Flanigan's Enterprises in Miami seeks an energetic server to welcome guests, take orders, and deliver food and drinks with a smile in a fast-paced setting.

You will work five days a week, stand for long periods, handle payments at the POS, and collaborate with team to ensure guest satisfaction. English fluency is required, and regulatory certifications must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand 100% of shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• English literacy required.
• Florida Responsible Vendor certification and food safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and guide to seating.
• Take orders accurately and enter into POS.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely manner.
• Ensure table maintenance and cleanliness.
• Handle payments and make correct change.
• Assist team with shifts and side work.
• Provide menu knowledge and explain specials.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and escalate when needed.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
