Job summary

Flanigan’s Enterprises in Florida is seeking friendly servers to join our team. You will welcome guests, take orders, and ensure timely delivery of meals and beverages. You’ll handle POS transactions and assist with maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to stand for long periods, and English fluency. The position offers a five‑day work week, paid vacations with tenure, health insurance, a 401K plan, and 50% meals during shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly, attentive service and handle guest questions.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English for order taking and notes.
• Ability to stand and move for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support colleagues to maintain table appearance and service flow.
• Know menu items and current promotions to answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately write and enter orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve and deliver orders promptly to guests.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and summon a manager when needed.
• Process payments and ensure accurate change.
• Perform shift opening/closing duties and side-work.
• Restock and keep restrooms clean for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
