Job summary

Dolton West School District 148 seeks a Math Interventionist to provide targeted math instruction for K–8 students identified as below grade level. The role includes collaboration with teachers, administrators, and support staff to design evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and promote numeracy achievement.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s in Education, a valid teaching license, and ideally a Master’s in Math or related field with a Math Specialist endorsement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Master’s degree in Math or a related field preferred.
• Valid teaching license; Math Specialist endorsement or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, with demonstrated success in math instruction and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and individualized math instruction aligned to students' specific needs.
• Assess students using formal and informal measures to determine math levels, strengths, and areas of need.
• Analyze data to identify students for intervention and monitor ongoing progress.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and adjust intervention plans.
• Implement research-based strategies in problem solving, mathematical practices, fluency, use of manipulatives, and integration of extended response writing.
• Support classroom instruction through modeling and co-teaching math strategies.
• Attend MTSS process and participate in schoolwide math initiatives.
