Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a Certified Behavior Intervention Teacher to support the Seaglass Program for K-5 students. You will plan engaging interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate with psychologists, counselors, and teachers to improve social-emotional and behavioral outcomes.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, parent communication, and development of targeted strategies for ongoing student growth within a school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience teaching—especially with at-risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Applicant must have, or be eligible for, a Virginia teaching license (Elementary PK-6 or PK-3).
• Equivalent training and experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate positive behavioral change in students.
• Provide direct and indirect social-emotional instructional support.
• Develop and implement specialized behavior intervention strategies.
• Create behavior intervention plans aligning with instructional goals.
• Collaborate with school psychologist, counselor, and social worker.
• Review behavioral referrals and discipline data to guide planning.
