Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks a Behavior Intervention Teacher to support the Seaglass Program, providing targeted interventions for elementary students (K-5) to strengthen academic readiness and social-emotional development.

The role requires collaboration with school staff, parent outreach, and development of behavior intervention plans to improve student behaviors and support transitions back to home schools. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education required.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience teaching at-risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Applicant must have, or be eligible for, a Virginia Department of Education teaching license (PK-6 or PK-3).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a positive behavioral change in students.
• Provide direct and indirect social-emotional instructional support in a positive environment.
• Develop behavior intervention plans aligned with instructional goals and student needs.
• Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and social workers.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and set priorities for social and emotional needs.
• Maintain progress data and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
