Job summary

Alpha is hiring an Early Elementary Teacher to guide six-year-olds through app-based core learning, targeted literacy sessions, and daily classroom routines. You will diagnose gaps, design short sequences, and drive students toward weekly goals with data-supported instruction.

The role is full-time, on-site at a Chicago campus, requiring 3+ years with children and 2+ years teaching reading in K–3, plus structured‑literacy training. Relocation support is provided.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years directly with children aged 4–9.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured‑literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed, with relocation support.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead morning launch, workshops, and check‑chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Run targeted literacy sessions with 2–4 students and diagnose decoding gaps.
• Coach students through app-based core learning and monitor progress via data.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, closing, and interventions.
