Job summary

Alpha School is seeking an elementary guides to deliver app-based core learning and targeted reading interventions on-site. You will monitor progress, diagnose gaps, and execute short, structured lessons within a full school day framework.

The role emphasizes reading instruction, data-driven coaching, and collaboration with families. Relocation support and full-time on-site employment are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4–9
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 (within last 5 years)
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required
• 70% of day guiding students through app-based learning; 30% on targeted reading sessions
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning and diagnose gaps
• Lead targeted structured-literacy sessions with two to four students
• Manage morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities
• Drive weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and gamification
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions
