Job summary

Alpha School is seeking dedicated guides to support K–3 students with app-based core learning and targeted reading interventions. You will diagnose gaps, guide small groups, and maintain daily goals while building a strong literacy program.

You'll spend about 70% of your day guiding students through apps and 30% on targeted sessions, with relocation assistance for campus placement. This is a full-time, on-site role across Alpha campuses nationwide.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in educational or related settings.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, or equivalent) or master’s in reading.
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Willing to spend ~70% of day guiding students through app-based learning and ~30% on targeted sessions.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning, diagnosing gaps, and unblocking progress.
• Run targeted structured-literacy sessions with small groups (2–4 students).
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Drive weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions;
