Job summary

Alpha, operating across multiple campuses, seeks a dedicated Student Success Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning and close reading gaps. You will diagnose decoding issues, deliver targeted sequences, and stay with learners through lunch and closing to ensure daily goals are met.

Responsibilities include running short literacy sessions for small groups, tracking progress, and maintaining high expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, children’s theater, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years coaching students on reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar; or a master’s in reading or literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coaching K-3 students through app-based core learning: spotting who is stuck, asking the question that unblocks them, and maintaining daily goals.
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with two to four students, diagnosing gaps from running records and fluency probes, teaching a designed sequence, and checking transfer.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities to keep six-year-olds moving.
• Guiding students to weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a plan.
