Job summary

Alpha is hiring for an Academic Coach to support K-3 students using app-based core learning. You will diagnose reading gaps, lead short literacy sessions for small groups, and drive students toward weekly goals.

You will stay with your students through lunch and recess, applying structured-literacy strategies and a goal-driven approach. A bachelor’s degree is required, with certified reading training preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working directly with children aged 4-9
• 2+ years coaching reading in grades K-3 within last 5 years
• Structured-literacy training or master's in reading or literacy
• Bachelor's degree; teaching certificate not required
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and diagnosing gaps
• Running short literacy sessions for 2–4 students and designing sequences
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and daily check-chart activities
• Driving students to weekly app goals with gamification and leaderboards
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a plan
