Job summary

Ampact administers Math Corps, a national tutoring program hiring AmeriCorps members to tutor students in math at local schools. Tutors will lead small groups, follow posted schedules, assess progress, and collaborate with on-site coaches for continual growth.

The role runs during the 2026-27 school year with full-time hours and a focus on student growth, data entry, and community engagement. Stipend-based compensation and education awards are available through AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

Must be dependable with a history of good attendance.
Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
Share your experience with the community.
