Job summary

Math Corps is part of Ampact, a nonprofit organization, and tutors students in local schools to help them build math skills and confidence. You’ll see groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes each day and return them to class before the next session.

We offer training and coaching, with on-site support from a school coach. This AmeriCorps role includes a stipend and education awards as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and apply feedback.
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
