Job summary

Richmond County School System seeks a Literacy Support Coach to improve reading achievement in elementary schools through structured literacy, data-driven planning, and collaborative support with principals and coaches.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education; a Master’s degree and Reading Endorsement are preferred. Expect 70% classroom time providing direct coaching, modeling best practices, and supporting K-3 teachers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Education includes coaching or leadership training with Reading Endorsement/Teacher Leader Endorsement preferred.
• Experience with Georgia standards and literacy instruction is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Spend 70% of the school day in classrooms working directly with students and teachers.
• Provide coaching to K-3 teachers and develop an effective, school-wide literacy plan.
• Analyze data and collaborate with principals to adjust instructional practices.
• Lead professional development and modeling to improve literacy outcomes.
• Maintain organized documentation of coaching services and progress.
