Job summary

Mastery Schools seeks an Assistant Director of K-3 Literacy to ensure foundational literacy growth for students and to lead data-driven instruction improvements. You will partner with schools to strengthen Tier 1 practices, support WIN blocks, and align K-2 with 3-8 literacy efforts.

You will coach teachers and leaders, develop resources, and drive continuous improvement across foundational skills, language, reading, and writing. This role travels across campuses to support network priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in literacy instruction or leadership.
• Experience with Science of Reading and MTSS implementation.
• Proven record of improving literacy outcomes in under-resourced communities.

Responsibilities

• Coach and observe to strengthen Tier 1 literacy instruction grounded in the Science of Reading.
• Collaborate with K-2 and 3-8 teams to ensure coherent transitions into third grade.
• Develop professional learning and instructional resources.
