Job summary

Crossover is hiring a Youth Development Coach for a full-time, on-site role at a Pasadena campus. You will guide K–3 students through app-based learning, diagnose reading gaps, and run short literacy sessions to help all students reach daily goals.

Requirements include 3+ years with children ages 4–9, 2+ years teaching reading in K–3, structured-literacy training, and a bachelor’s degree. Relocation support and US work authorization are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years direct work with children ages 4–9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or similar.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching reading in grades K–3 in the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar) or a master’s in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree; a teaching certificate is not required.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning: spotting gaps, asking the right questions, and holding daily goals.
• Lead short structured-literacy sessions for 2–4 students, diagnose gaps, teach a sequence you designed, and check for transfer.
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities that keep K–3 students moving.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with your students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a proactive plan.
