Job summary

Alpha is hiring a Student Success Coach to guide K-3 learners through app-based core learning at our on-site California campus. You will diagnose reading gaps, design short sequences, and stay with students through lunch and closing, pushing toward daily goals with engaging activities.

With 3+ years working with children and proven literacy training, you’ll work 5 days a week on-site, relocation assistance provided, and participate in a fast-moving, student-focused culture that values measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• At least 3 years working with children ages 4-9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar.
• At least 2 years coaching students on reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years.
• Structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or master’s in reading/literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coaching two to four students through app-based core learning and diagnostics.
• Diagnosing a phonics or decoding gap from running records and fluency probes.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving students to weekly app goals using gamification and leaderboards.
• Staying with students through lunch and closing, addressing frustration with a plan.
