Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a K-3 teacher assistant to support classroom instruction under the supervision of a teacher or principal. Qualifications

• Associate's Degree OR two years of higher education (48 credit hours) OR ability to pass a Work-key assessment with 96 hours of in-service training.
• Completion of NC DOL Apprenticeship Program.
• Completion of NC ATA Professional Development Plan.
• Desirable: Education concentration and 2+ years working with elementary children.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Enforce school policies and coordinate duties with teachers.
• Instruct and monitor students in use of equipment to prevent injuries.
• Observe and record student progress data.
