Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a K-3 teacher assistant to support instructional objectives and classroom management. The TA will work under the supervision of teachers or principals, assisting students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts and monitor progress.

The role involves coordinating with teachers, supervising students in various settings, and performing essential clerical tasks to support instructional programs and technology resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate's Degree or 48 credit hours OR ability to pass an assessment (WorkKeys and 96 hours of in-service training) OR completion of NC DOL Apprenticeship Program OR NC ATA PD Plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, on field trips, and common areas.
• Enforce school policies and rules.
• Coordinate instructional efforts with classroom teachers.
• Instruct and monitor use of equipment to prevent injuries and damage.
• Observe performance and record data to assess progress.
