Job summary

Alpha is hiring a Reading Coach to lead structured-literacy workshops for K-2 students on-site at one of our campuses (Phoenix, OKC/Tulsa, Fort Worth, Dallas, Plano, The Woodlands, TX, or Park City, UT). You will design lessons from live data, run running records, and motivate students through targeted sessions.

Requirements include a structured-literacy certification or a Master's in reading instruction, a Bachelor's with 2+ years in K-2 instruction, and full-time in-person availability.

Qualifications

• Structured-literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson Reading System, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) OR a Master's degree in reading instruction
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, plus 2+ years of full-time K-2 structured reading instruction within the past 5 years in a school or clinical environment, utilizing systematic phonics or structured literacy
• Proven ability to independently design reading lessons and clearly articulate instructional content and methodology without dependence on a published program
• Proven ability to assess reading growth and describe specific student improvements in areas such as fluency, accuracy, phonics, or decoding
• Availability to work in person full-time at one Alpha campus: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)

Responsibilities

• Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy frameworks (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or comparable), informed by live student performance data
• Facilitating daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students meet their weekly adaptive-app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational systems (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
• Conducting and evaluating running records, fluency assessments, and decoding diagnostics to monitor progress and refine subsequent session planning
• Analyzing AI-generated performance insights from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically during sessions, not only during preparation
• Serving as the approachable, enthusiastic adult your K-2 students are genuinely excited to see each day
