Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, mentorship, and more time for students to build real-world skills. Guides will be on-site for full-time roles, working with K–3 students to close literacy gaps using app-based learning and structured sessions.

The position requires 3+ years with children 4–9 and structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading. Local relocation support is provided, with benefits and a six-figure compensation package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certificate not required.
• Ability to guide students through app-based learning and campus routines throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning, diagnosing gaps, and unblocking with targeted sequences.
• Lead short structured-literacy sessions for 2–4 students and monitor transfer of skills.
• Manage morning launch, workshops, and campus routines to keep students progressing.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using classroom currency and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with proactive plans.
