Job summary

Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is seeking a Tutor to provide personalized tutoring for youth in grades K-12 under the Education Center Manager. You will collaborate with local schools to address educational needs and develop programs that promote positive youth development.

In summer months, you may assume the role of Youth Coordinator. Responsibilities include assisting youth with core subjects, planning activities, coordinating with volunteers, and supporting educational goals while

Qualifications

• AA degree in liberal studies; math, science, language arts, literacy, history or education is required.
• CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
• Mandated Reporter training must be completed within 30 days of employment.
• Valid CA driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of common core curriculum & STEM.

Responsibilities

• Assist youth with reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
• Plan and implement educational activities to promote positive youth development.
• Coordinate with schools to build communication and partnerships.
• Serve as a chaperone for on-site and off-site events.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and work extended hours as needed.
