Job summary

Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians seeks a dedicated Student Support Advisor to improve academic opportunities for youth in the six-county area and to connect families with tutoring, counseling, and after-school programs.

You will work with tribal and local partners, maintain confidential records, and advocate for Native youth while supporting cultural events and education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required in social work, education, counseling, or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience working with Native American youth.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license and insurability by GTB.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Work a flexible 40-hour week as scheduled.
• Provide tutoring and student support services to youth.
• Maintain student records and referrals.
• Collaborate with schools and tribal programs (AFS, GTB).
• Prepare monthly activity reports and baseline measures.
• Assist in planning and coordinating education and cultural programs.
