Job summary

The Chumash Learning Center in Santa Ynez, CA, is seeking tutors to support Homework Club and Academic Tutor sessions, in person or remotely. Tutors assist students with homework, projects and test preparation in one-on-one or small-group settings, fostering a welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Chumash Learning Center offers a vibrant, welcoming place for Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians community members to gather for Homework Club and to encourage lifelong learning with Academic Tutor support. Students' drop-in to get assistance in various subjects to enhance their understanding and performance, in-person or remotely. Tutors encourage positive student behavior and participation during study and group activities.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting while assisting with homework assignments, projects and test preparation.
• Monitor and track student(s) progress, by providing regular feedback to the Education
• Department, student(s), parent(s).
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain a trusting and positive relationship with students and parents.
• Stay updated on curriculum changes

Qualifications
