Job summary

The School District of Washington Technology & Learning Center is seeking a Computer Technician to support district technology across buildings. The role focuses on deploying and maintaining student and staff devices, troubleshooting hardware and software, and providing user-centered support.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of hands-on IT experience; an associate degree or tech certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of one year professional, hands-on experience in computer hardware/software operations, desktop support, or IT customer service.
  • Demonstrated competencies and strong interpersonal communication with a user-first, customer service approach.
  • Associate degree or technical certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience with Google Workspace for Education, mobile device management platforms, and help desk ticketing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Device Life-Cycle and Deployment: set up, provision, deploy, audit, and repair District technology assets.
  • Classroom and Building Technical Support: diagnose, repair, and maintain classroom technology systems.
  • Ticketing and Workflow Management: manage, prioritize, and resolve help-desk tickets within SLAs.
  • Inventory and Asset Management: maintain asset records and warranty tracking.
  • Basic Network and Infrastructure Maintenance: perform cabling checks and verify wireless access point connectivity.
  • User Support and Training: provide coaching and quick-reference support on hardware and software.
  • Team and District Collaboration: work with IE team on upgrades and maintenance rollouts.
  • Other Duties: perform duties as assigned and ensure reliable operations.
