Chartwells K12 is seeking an innovative Chef for a premier K12 district in Peekskill, NY. You will lead culinary operations with creativity and precision while promoting a safe and sanitary work environment.

Reporting to the Director, you will influence menus, quality, and service in a dynamic school dining program. Ideal candidates bring hands-on chef experience, strong knowledge of trends, portioning, cost control, and presentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 2+ years of culinary/kitchen management, catering experience a plus.
• Solid background in institutional and batch cooking with health standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop regular and specialty school menus aligned with K12 standards.
• Train kitchen staff in food prep, equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas.
• Manage inventory and procure food and supplies efficiently.
• Ensure health and sanitation compliance and participate in audits.
• Engage in staff development and stay current on industry trends.
• Perform additional duties to support dining operations.
