Job summary

Chartwells K-12 is seeking an Executive Chef for a premier K12 district. You will lead kitchen operations with creativity and precision, ensuring a safe, sanitary work environment while delivering high-quality meals that meet standards.

The role reports to the Director and offers an entrepreneurial culinary leadership opportunity to impact student dining through menu development, staff training, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree desired or equivalent experience in culinary arts.
• Two plus years of culinary/kitchen management experience, with catering experience preferred.
• Proven success in complex foodservice operations with emphasis on quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
• Hands-on chef experience and strong knowledge of food trends.

Responsibilities

• Develops regular and specialty menus in line with K12 standards and guidelines.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Establishes cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Manages inventory of food and supplies, optimizing utilization.
• Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations and participates in audits.
• Participates in meetings, staff development, and professional programs to stay current with industry trends.
• Performs other duties to support dining service operations.
