Chartwells K-12 is seeking an Executive Chef for a premier K12 district in Sandy Hook, CT. This role leads kitchen operations, develops menus, and drives food quality while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. You will work closely with the Director to inspire culinary excellence and strong client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a hands-on approach, and a proven track record in institutional dining, with ServSafe knowledge and cost-conscious production.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years in culinary/kitchen management, catering a plus.
• Hands-on chef experience with knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and presentation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop regular and specialty menus aligned with K12 standards.
• Train kitchen staff in food preparation, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas.
• Oversee inventory and ensure availability of vital products.
• Ensure health and sanitation compliance and participate in audits.
• Participate in meetings and staff development programs.
