Cengage Group is seeking a Proposal Writer for our K-12 learning market to manage the RFP process and collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams. You will ensure on-time, high-quality responses that align with client needs and Cengage's standards.

You will contribute to a content library, audit messaging, and streamline templates and processes, while mentoring teammates and driving efficient proposal workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of proposal management with sales support or writing.
• BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Ability to mentor and coordinate proposal efforts within tight timeframes.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating proposals balancing user needs with business requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication with stakeholder influence.
• Ability to stay agile while managing high-volume, deadline-driven work.
• Understanding of proposal trends, technologies, and integration strategies.
• Provide value as a knowledgeable resource and strategic problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish, including vetting and content collaboration.
• Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
• Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements.
• Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Partner with Sales to differentiate proposals and secure a winning impression.
• Identify gaps and propose improvements to processes, systems, and templates.
• Track, evaluate, and improve RFP responses based on feedback and market research.
• Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
