Job summary

Cengage is seeking a Proposal Writer for the K-12 market to manage the RFP process, working with sales, marketing, and product teams to deliver timely, high-quality proposals that reflect our solutions.

You will build and maintain a library of approved messaging, templates, and resources, while mentoring teammates and pursuing efficiencies in templates and processes to win district and state education opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in proposal management with sales support or writing.
BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing, or related field.
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
Ability to coordinate proposal efforts within tight timeframes.

Responsibilities

Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish, including vetting, strategy calls, content collaboration, editing, and proposal preparation.
Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements for proposals.
Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
Partner with Sales to create innovative approaches and differentiate proposals.
Identify gaps in the current response model and implement improvements.
Track, evaluate, and improve RFP responses based on feedback and market research.
Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
