Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a full-time sales professional to advance education sales for digital and print products in the St. Louis area. You will lead calls with prospective customers, build strategic territory plans, and forecast activity using our tools.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a proven sales record, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex solutions and relationships. This position emphasizes in-person engagement and travel within the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Minimum of 2 years of teaching, and education sales preferably in the publishing industry.
• Proven record of consistent sales growth and goal achievement performance.
• Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to build and execute complex sales solutions.
• Ability to establish, cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with current and prospective customers, internal business partners, colleagues, and management.
• Documented territory management and organizational skills.
• Strong competency in the use of business technologies, multiple applications, CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; must be able to lift 50 lbs unaided. PREFERRED - sales experience with knowledge of digital information delivery, education, or IT industry.

Responsibilities

• Engage in sales call activities to prospective customers to explore and present product solutions for our digital and print products.
• Meet or exceed annual sales goals.
• Create and implement strategic territory and business plans.
• Drive new business to foster growth within the territory.
• Provide accurate forecast and sales activity reporting using company sales tools and historical data.
• Participate in network building opportunities within territory, including conferences, group presentations, and industry functions.
• Other duties as needed.
