Job summary

Cengage is seeking a Sales Consultant for the K-12 market to travel the Oklahoma territory, visiting current and prospective customers. You will perform in-person sales consultations with faculty, curriculum directors, and administrators, presenting both textbook and digital products and developing plans to reach goals with a hunter mentality.

The role requires strong communication, territory management, and CRM proficiency, along with a Bachelor’s degree and a proven sales record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Proven record of consistent sales and goal achievement performance.
• Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to build and implement sales solutions.
• Ability to establish, cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal partners, colleagues and management.
• Strong proficiency with business technologies, including PCs, mobile devices, CRM systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Engage in sales call activities to school districts to explore and present product solutions of both our textbook and digital products.
• Meet or exceed annual sales goals.
• Drive new business to develop growth within the territory.
• Provide accurate forecasting and sales activity using company tools.
• Participate in network-building opportunities within territory (conferences, group presentations, industry functions).
• Take an active role in the Oklahoma Publishers Association.
