Job summary

Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Data, Information, and Assessment Systems Specialist to lead data strategy and system optimization across the network. You will manage the SIS (PowerSchool), design analytics, and partner with educators to drive student outcomes.

The role requires strong data modeling, 4+ years of information systems experience, and the ability to translate technical concepts for school leaders.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of K-12 school systems and how data and digital platforms improve outcomes.
• 4+ years designing, deploying, and managing core information systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or related field.
• Experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
• Ability to research system issues and communicate ideas clearly.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical and creative problem-solver.
• Leadership and strategic thinking in a growing school setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the school's leadership team.
• Manage PowerSchool and expand schoolwide usage of SIS.
• Own data systems, SIS, LMS, and analytics for educators.
• Prepare monthly board reports and data-driven action plans.
• Develop and maintain user roles and permissions in education platforms.
• Coordinate data days and professional learning sessions.
• Review and present K-5 data to NYCDOE/NYSED/BOCES reports.
• Create and adjust master and student schedules.
• Collaborate with Ops and instructional teams on data entry and troubleshooting.
