Job summary

Washington County's District Attorney's Office is seeking a detail-oriented Criminal Justice Data Specialist (Legal Specialist I/II) to join the Records and Analytics Support (RAS) Team. This role handles reports from multiple police agencies and builds cases that support prosecution, using data-driven decision making and public reporting.

Legal experience is not required for the I level; II may be possible with experience.

Qualifications

Principles of sound business communication and correct English usage.
Business writing standards for formal communications.
Ability to apply critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with case management systems and MS Office/ Tableau.
Ability to work independently and with attorneys, staff, and law enforcement partners.

Responsibilities

Create electronic case files, review imported data for accuracy; correct/enter missing information.
Request additional case materials and update case records as new information is received.
Maintain data quality by validating entries, resolving inconsistencies, and applying standardized codes.
Monitor electronic communications and process court documents (motions, orders, hearing notifications).
Enter judgment, sentencing, and probation information and update records when conditions change.
