Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain wastewater treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment at our facility. You will perform routine operational, maintenance and custodial duties in primary and secondary treatment, sludge handling, and related systems.

Responsibilities include monitoring meters and gauges, recording data, training other operators, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and comprehend English in operational, safety and quality instructions.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must learn to operate and monitor plant equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates plant processes including primary treatment and activated sludge secondary treatment.
• Maintains and performs minor repairs on equipment.
• Reads meters, gauges, scales, charts, and records readings.
• Trains and directs other operators as needed.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, facilities and grounds.
• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates as needed.
• Performs routine lab tests and chemical dosing checks.
• May be required to work outside in inclement weather and on-call rotations.
