Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator to operate and maintain wastewater treatment and related equipment at our Michigan facility. You will perform routine duties in primary and secondary treatment, sludge handling, and testing to meet permit requirements.

The role involves reading meters, performing field tests, basic maintenance, and supporting on-call emergencies, with opportunities to contribute to safety and environmental compliance within a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and comprehend English for safety, process and quality instructions.
• Basic mathematical calculations are required for process control and readings.
• Able to learn and independently operate plant equipment and process control systems.
• Willingness to work in a team and take on expanding responsibilities.
• Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site.

Responsibilities

• Operates primary and secondary treatment processes and related equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as directed.
• Reads meters, gauges, charts and logs readings accurately.
• Trains others and directs operators in assigned duties as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of plant buildings and grounds and supports safety practices.
