Job summary

Boyd Thermal Solutions Inc. in Lancaster, PA seeks a Junior Thermal Research Engineer to support the design, modeling, and experimental validation of advanced thermal management systems for data center, semiconductor test, and aerospace applications.

You will contribute to design, modeling, and data-driven analysis to accelerate design cycles and improve system-level insight. You will develop thermal-fluid models, work with Python and MATLAB, create CAD models, and assist in DOE and prototype

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience or thermal coursework.
• U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR; no relocation offered; reside within 60 miles of Lancaster PA.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of thermal management systems (liquid and two-phase cooling, heat exchanger architectures).
• Create and apply steady-state and transient thermal-fluid models for system performance.
• Develop and apply data-driven methods and machine learning for design insights.
• Support DOE and experimental validation, including instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Create CAD models and engineering docs (SolidWorks, P&IDs, drawings, test plans).
• Assist in prototype development and testbed construction.
