Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Tailings & Water Engineer to support water systems and Tailings Storage Facility operations. You will collaborate with operations to optimize water usage, monitor TSF stability, and develop plans for water removal and deposition with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role requires a civil/geotechnical/mining engineering background, strong communication, and experience with water systems, TSF design, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Mine Engineering.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of water systems and TSF design, construction, operation, maintenance, and surveillance.
• Knowledge of soil/rock/fluid mechanics, water modeling, stability analysis and general civil engineering principles.
• Knowledge of survey equipment, procedures, and principles.

Responsibilities

• Support safe and effective performance of the site’s water systems and TSF under the Tailings Management System.
• Partner with operations to optimize water use and ensure proper TSF construction.
• Plan instrumentation, monitor water performance, TSF stability and deposition efficiency.
• Prepare water system strategies and scopes of work; review consultant deliverables.
• Develop QA/QC and safety plans for tailings and water systems; manage risks.
