Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Senior Superintendent for Tailings Governance & Engineering to lead TSF governance, planning, and monitoring. The role interacts with the Engineer of Record and regulatory bodies to ensure safe, compliant tailings operations at the Pinto Valley Mine in Arizona.

You will guide deposition strategies, oversee QA/QC, manage change, and coordinate with Tailings Engineering, Operations, and Environmental teams to meet life-of-mine objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining or related engineering field.
• 15 years tailings management or related leadership in mining/heavy industry.
• 5+ years tailings construction, design support or field execution.
• Knowledge of TSF construction, water systems and mining infrastructure.
• Experience with planning and scheduling tailings operations.

Responsibilities

• Governance of Tailings Management System (TMS) and alignment with standards.
• Prepare governance reports for audits and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate with Engineer of Record (EOR) on design intent and plans.
• Lead deposition strategy development and risk-informed planning.
• Oversee QA/QC programs and monitor facility performance.
• Lead field execution guidance and ensure adherence to plans.
• Manage change control (MOC) and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure integrated tailings operation.
