Impact Networking, LLC. in Hammond, Indiana is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support customer infrastructure and desktop computing within our Managed IT organization.

You will help monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain server, storage, cloud, and application environments while documenting activities. The ideal candidate will grow technical expertise across multiple technologies, participate in training, and provide professional, empathetic customer support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, systems administration, or technical operations.
• Foundational operational support experience and developing technical troubleshooting skills.
• Foundational knowledge of virtualization, server administration, cloud technologies, endpoint support, and networking concepts.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, VMware/ESXi, Active Directory, DNS/routing, Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, backup/DR solutions such as Datto, and monitoring/remote management tools.
• ITIL and service management familiarity a plus.
• Experience with N-able RMM or similar remote monitoring and management tools a plus.
• HaloPSA platform knowledge preferred.
• Documentation management platforms proficiency.
• Event and incident management systems experience (Inc/Change/Service Request).
• Strong communication, time-management, and customer-service focus.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer support and technical assistance for Impact Networking customer environments.
• Handle server, workstation, application, backup, monitoring, and cloud incidents and service requests; restore service and document work.
• Monitor infrastructure by following alert procedures and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Follow procedures for customer notification, ticket updates, assignment, escalation, and closure.
• Provide professional technical interface with customers, internal teams, and vendors.
• Assist in reviewing customer requests and escalate advanced engineering concerns.
• Assist with backup, patch management, monitoring, and routine system administration issues.
• Perform documented system configuration changes in response to approved client issues.
• Troubleshoot issues using documented procedures and guidance from senior engineers and managers.
• Document work and track time in HaloPSA; communicate status clearly with customers.
