Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD. The role requires an active Secret clearance and may progress to Top Secret.

Two years of software or systems engineering experience and knowledge of avionics are essential. The position is future funded and expected to begin no earlier than September 1, 2026, with responsibilities spanning requirements, vendor coordination, and system integration in an aerospace

Qualifications

• At least two years experience performing software or systems engineering activities.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.
• Active Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret may be required later.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals

Education

BS in a technical discipline (ABET accredited)
