Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer for software systems engineering on aviation programs. This full-time, on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD, with an active Secret clearance required and potential to obtain Top Secret later.

The position involves developing software requirements, coordinating with vendors, and participating in Agile/SAFe processes, with a future funding timeline starting no earlier than Sep 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience performing software or systems engineering activities.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.
• BS in a technical discipline from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
