Coaction is seeking a Junior Systems Analyst, Underwriting Systems in Morristown, NJ. This entry-level role supports stability and improvement of underwriting platforms and pairs with Business Analysts, Developers, QA, and stakeholders.

You will learn Commercial P&C insurance concepts, incident triage, data validation, and regulatory compliance while contributing to software releases and documentation. Hybrid schedule—in-office at least 3 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of professional experience; internships or coop experience a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop foundational knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance and underwriting processes.
• Intake, analyze, categorize, and triage production incidents in Jira Service Management (JSM).
• Perform initial root-cause analysis and identify workarounds where appropriate.
• Validate data corrections and patches in lower environments prior to production.
• Support validation of downstream integrations, regulatory reporting, and system compliance.
• Monitor regulatory circulars and assist with validation of template upgrades and compliance.
• Create clear defect tickets with detailed information for developers.
• Compile and maintain release notes summarizing enhancements, fixes, and known issues.
• Respond to questions from developers and QA to clarify issues and context.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Reporting, Underwriting, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Execute release validation and regression testing for production fixes and upgrades.
• Document findings and procedures to improve operational readiness.
• Leverage AI tools to improve documentation quality while maintaining accuracy.
