Job summary

Coaction Specialty Insurance Group (Coaction) seeks a Senior Business Analyst for underwriting solutions in Morristown, NJ. You’ll bridge business needs with technology to design, deliver, and optimize underwriting tech across lines of business.

You will drive requirements, collaborate with underwriting, product, and delivery teams, and support end-to-end delivery from design to production support. Strong BA experience in insurance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field; CPCU, AINS certifications are a plus.
• 10+ years as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of policy lifecycle, claims processing, billing, and underwriting.
• Familiarity with Jira and data analysis.
• Experience with insurance software solutions, Duck Creek preferred.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills for consensus.
• Ability to influence scope and design to meet strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, document, and manage scope, processes, and requirements with sponsors and stakeholders.
• Produce user stories and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Lead requirements gathering for policy, claims, billing, and underwriting projects.
• Analyze current insurance processes, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define solutions and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Coordinate with QA teams to validate test cases and lead UAT.
• Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the change lifecycle.
