We bring our industry expertise together to continually push the boundaries of what insurance can be for our clients.**Role Overview**The Junior Systems Analyst, Underwriting Systems supports the stability, quality, and continuous improvement of Coaction's underwriting platforms. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates or candidates with limited professional experience who are eager to build expertise in Commercial Property & Casualty insurance, Surplus & Specialty Lines, Duck Creek Policy Administration, and software delivery. Working alongside Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders, the analyst will learn to investigate production issues, validate system changes, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to successful software releases.**Responsibilities:*** Develop foundational knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance, including Surplus & Specialty Lines, underwriting concepts, and business processes.* Intake, analyze, categorize, and triage production incidents and service requests within Jira Service Management (JSM).* Perform initial root-cause analysis and identify or validate business and technical workarounds where appropriate.* Validate data corrections and data patches in lower environments prior to production implementation.* Support validation of downstream integrations, regulatory reporting, and system compliance.* Monitor regulatory circulars and assist with validation of Duck Creek template upgrades and compliance adoption activities.* Create clear, actionable defect tickets with sufficient detail for development teams.* Compile and maintain release notes summarizing delivered enhancements, fixes, and known issues.* Respond to developer and Quality Engineering questions to clarify reported issues, expected system behavior, and business context.* Collaborate with Regulatory Reporting, Underwriting, Operations, Product Management, Actuarial, Architects, Developers, Quality Engineers, and other stakeholders.* Execute release validation and regression testing for production fixes, enhancements, platform upgrades, and compliance changes.* Document findings, procedures, and knowledge articles to improve operational readiness and reduce key-person dependency.* Leverage AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve documentation quality, summarize findings, and increase efficiency while maintaining accuracy.**Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Insurance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).* 0–2 years of professional experience; internships or cooperative education are a plus.* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Interest in learning Commercial P&C insurance and enterprise software platforms.* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Attention to detail and willingness to investigate complex issues.* Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Jira or SQL is a plus but not required.* Eagerness to learn Agile delivery practices, production support processes, and Duck Creek technologies.* Strong customer-service mindset and ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.**\\*\\*This role must sit in our Morristown, NJ office on our hybrid schedule, being in office no less than 3 days a week\\*\\*.**Salary range specific to for this role : $55,000-$70,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, and qualifications. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
