Job summary

Charles IT is seeking a Jr Systems Administrator to join our team in Middletown, CT. You will handle first-level tickets and assist with IT infrastructure, with growth toward advanced responsibilities.

Responsibilities include supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS, managing Active Directory, and coordinating with vendors. The role requires strong communication, travel to client sites, and a proactive, independent work style.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 2+ years in MSP or internal IT support environment.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 CISSP
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Take first level tickets initially; escalate when necessary to higher support tiers.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Support Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
• Manage user accounts using Active Directory.
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic networking support (IP, DNS, VPN).
• Configure and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs.
• Maintain documentation and time entries; communicate with end users clearly.
• Build strong client relationships and ensure high satisfaction.
