Job summary

Charles IT is hiring a Jr Systems Administrator to handle first-level tickets and support IT infrastructure for a diverse client base. You will gain exposure to hardware, software, and network issues while building a foundation for more advanced responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have a related degree and 2+ years in MSP/IT support, with certifications such as A+, Network+, and others. Travel to client sites may be required, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in MSP or internal IT support.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Support operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Manage user accounts using Active Directory.
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic networking support (IP config, DNS, VPN).
• Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs and updates.
• Provide timely, professional end-user support.
• Explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
• Maintain accurate documentation and time entries.
• Build strong client relationships and ensure high satisfaction.
• Handle user concerns calmly, including de-escalation.

Due to growth, we are currently seeking to add a Jr Systems Administrator to our exceptional team. The Jr Systems Administrator is responsible for taking the first level tickets once escalated to the team. In thisrole it is vital in ensuring the IT infrastructure runs smoothly while building a foundation for more advanced responsibilities in the future.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
• Support operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS
• Manage user accounts using tools like Active Directory
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Provide basic networking support (IP configuration, DNS, VPN)

• Other duties as assigned.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience working in an MSP, internal IT environment, or a similar technical support setting.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity
• Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, client-focused team.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed
• Enthusiastic about taking on challenges in a growing company with a diverse client base.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
