Charles IT is looking for a Jr. Systems Administrator in Stamford, CT. The role handles first-level tickets after escalation and supports IT infrastructure to ensure smooth operations while building groundwork for advanced duties.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware/software issues, AD user management, and basic networking. Strong communication and independent work ethic are essential in a fast-paced, client-focused team.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in MSP/internal IT or similar support setting.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 CISSP? (CSIRT)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
• Support operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS
• Manage user accounts using tools like Active Directory
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Provide basic networking support (IP config, DNS, VPN)
• Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs, updates, and troubleshooting
• Provide timely, professional support to end users
• Communicate clearly and explain technical issues to non-technical users
• Maintain accurate documentation and time entries
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure high satisfaction
• Handle user concerns calmly and professionally, including de-escalation
• Other duties as assigned.
